COMMUNITY GARDEN ART COLLECTIVE
CGAC (Community Garden Art Collective) started up in 2020 following the start of the pandemic, as a means of staying connected with emerging creatives around the city. CGAC started from a desire to encourage expression through art – as such, we are committed to uplifting those who have made it their livelihood. We are dedicated to promoting emerging art practices and
encouraging local collaborations amongst new artists. Our mission is to function as a digital platform for online exhibitions, publications, and as a space to list upcoming in-person and digital art events happening in and around Toronto. CGAC’s mission is rooted in creating community, and as such aims to help young artists navigate the local art-scene, as well as making (emerging,
local) art more accessible to the public. CGAC is a gathering place for artists, and enthusiasts.
Since CGAC was born during a time of global isolation, so far our shows have been limited to the digital world (cgac.ca). We are currently accepting submissions for our fifth online exhibition, “Florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking.” We are hoping to start hosting in-person shows (and workshops) in 2023.
