PED
The Ped collective began in 2008 and consists of Toronto and Buffalo artists Millie Chen, Andrew Johnson, Joan Linder, Warren Quigley and Paul Vanouse. PED poses questions about the educational institution as it exists between the realms of nature, society, culture and politics, utilizing basic technologies to stimulate awareness of the implications behind this suburban setting. In this context, bicycles take on a populist and non-conformist role, suggesting a viable form of public communication and democratic address. In PED, mobility and permeation, perambulation and dissemination are characteristics of, not only the bicycle and the radio, but also we their agents.
