Personal Grounds was an exhibition curated by Elizabeth Fearon at 425 King St. West in 1999. The exhibition was an exploration of the ongoing relevance of Figurative painting at that present time. The exhibition included the artist’s John Abrams, Matthew Carver, Coco Leeta, Gillian Isles, Ian Fraiser, Mark Holden, Susanne Nacha, Frank Perna, Howard Ross, Nazy Sakhavarz, John Scott, Fiona Smyth and Maria de Sousa.
