TRUCKSTOP 12

Truckstop 12 was a collective formed in the summer 1998. All members had jobs to do for the collective and met once a week at Future Bakery on Queen Street W. Initially it was envisioned as a very clean installation show in a warehouse. Through meetings the idea of mobile art in vans emerged.

The actual exhibition took place on a beautiful fall day. Starting off at the Dufferin Mall parking lot, Truckstop 12 moved to a parking lot on College Street, and ended in Trinity Bellwood‘s park on the circular driveway. People brought their dogs and kids into the vans to see the art. This is exactly the type of interaction Truckstop 12 were hoping for by not doing a gallery style show. The mobile exhibition was interviewed by City TV and the Globe and Mail newspaper.
